The region of Latium boasts wonderful country estates and celebrated gardens, homes to princes and cardinals.  Due to their proximity to Rome, they are ideal for events or brief itineraries.  One can enjoy a villa where Händel lived and dedicated works to his host; a castle where a visiting Pope was depicted in an 18th century fresco with his court; and a palace built on the remains of an ancient Roman sanctuary that still belongs to the family of Pope Urban VIII Barberini, who was the greatest patron of the arts.
