Beyond Leonardo's Last Supper, the Gonzaga treasures at Mantua, and the celebrated lakes, Lombardy is also home to wonderful and inaccessible places. These include: Neo-Classical palaces designed for visits by Napoleon, the villa where Manzoni wrote “The Betrothed” which is still inhabited by his heirs, the palaces of Bergamo with their galleries of Lombard masterpieces, collections of private contemporary art or antique musical instruments, and private villas along Lakes Como and Maggiore.
